When the snowflakes fall like confetti on the Wurstelprater and the smell of punch wafts through the alleyways, it’s that time again: the winter market on the Riesenradplatz opens its doors – for the 16th time!
Under the motto “The Prater rocks”, a winter festival for all the senses awaits you – with live music, culinary highlights and lots of family fun.
From November 21, 2025 to January 6, 2026, the Prater will be transformed into a true winter wonderland with 47 days full of atmosphere, enjoyment and entertainment.
Winter market village & winter traffic circle
Follow the snowflakes to Pratermuseumsplatz, where charming market stalls invite you to take a leisurely stroll and store for gifts. Enjoy a delicious mug of punch or tea in the winter traffic circle and warm up.
Clear the stage: live music, shows & events
The winter market brings the stage to life: Thrilling35 live concerts from gospel to pop and soul, a family-friendly Perchten run, magical moments with the Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour, a charity auction, a spectacular New Year’s Eve program, the traditional New Year’s concert on our new LED wall and, to top it all off, a special winter sale – there’s something going on every day!
Prater experience – even in winter!
Of course, the typical Prater fun is not to be missed! Whether it’s a ride on the winter train, a scary ride on the ghost train, a round on the chain carousel or the Dizzy Mouse, action in the Autodrom, interactive learning in the GEDS, selfies with stars at Madame Tussauds, a visit to Magic World Vienna or a romantic view over Vienna from the Ferris wheel – the Prater remains the hottest tip in the city in winter too.
Winterburg – the family oasis
A special highlight: the guest garden of the Luftburg – Kolarik in the Prater becomes a winter outpost “Winterburg”. With organic snacks, free air castle jumping, outdoor playground, boccia lanes and a cool Christmas tree party with DJ – a meeting place for the whole family. Open daily from 12:00-20:00.
